From 2003 to 2023 the borwell team delivered software and IT solutions to the UK MoD and to UK Government departments, which were 'secure by design'. The team also worked for NATO, the EDA and other similar organisations. Established in 2003, the business had a wealth of experience delivering high quality, reliable and secure software solutions. The team became a trusted software and cyber security delivery partner for a number of organisations, and won an MoD award for a software project that supported the London 2012 Olympic Games. The team also supported UK corporations and mainly medium sized SMEs. Well designed custom software and database solutions, coupled with cyber security advice and consulting, helped keep valuable data and systems secure for these important clients. The business survived Covid. However, from Autumn 2021 was affected by 'the great resignation' and in Feb-Mar 2022 The Ukraine war led to customers putting CAPEX projects on hold, affecting our order book. The costs to replace employees who left, plus the fact that new employees moved jobs much more quickly, coupled with increasing costs and IT salaries going ever up meant the business was no longer viable. Thank you to all of our supporters over the last two decades. We have much to celebrate and many ex-borwell employees are now in key roles in the UK and across the world using their software, cyber and business skills for good.
